Honestly, I don't think many modern bands that have only been around a short time will ever be legends. Well, hopefully not the modern rock artists--no matter what form of rock.

I seriously had to stop listening to rock radio because of how similar newer stuff was sounding to older stuff, except for a few decent or a few good bands. The rest of modern rock artists were just plain bad. Now, I listen to country radio because of how boring and generic rock has gotten. I mean, I'd much rather listen to the great guitar tones and licks of one Brad Paisley than I would hear a bunch of guitarists using too much distortions and too much Dunlop Crybaby wah.

Just wait until Brad Paisley's PLAY comes out (on November 4th--two days from now). Then, you'll see what I mean.

It won't be generic music such as Foo Fighters etc. (Dave Grohl will be remembered for Nirvana anyway)

To become legendary you have do be cool, regardless of what you think of people Like Hendrix and Dylan (I'm not a Hendrix fan) There's no denying they were cool.

I think the people making music today with the potential of kids in 30 years wearing their t shirts will be The White Stripes, Queens Of The Stone Age, Kings Of Leon etc. They have to have a different edge to them - Aphex Twin, Kanye West, Outkast

Papa Roach...they have something about them. they aren't like the bands that change to fit the new style..Sure Papa Roach changes their sound alittle with every new CD..but Motley Crue did too. Nikki Sixx said that the changed to keep people intrested but Papa Roach changes to whatever they want not to whatever in style..

Red Hot Chili Peppers...they are unique..i haven't heard another band like them.
